The Library - September 2008

Thought you might like a look back to where we started together here in Room 8. As many of you know we got a bit of a late start ... as our class wasn't put together until mid-September. But I'm happy to say that we bonded quickly and have had a great three months since then.

One of our first activities together was a trip to the school library (which we get to do every Thursday!) Our school has a wonderful library and librarian (thank you Mrs. Ward!) and we really look forward to our weekly visits.

Mrs. Ward is our librarian. She began our first visit by

reading a story to the class which they really enjoyed.

Then the students get to pick a book to check out for the week. They bring them back to class and put them into our library basket for everyone to share until they have to be checked back in the following week.

Sometimes it's hard to pick ... there are so many wonderful titles to choose from. Looks like MK is putting a lot of thought into her choice.

After the students have chosen their book they wait in line for Mrs. Ward to check out the book on the computer.

DS was the last to check out his book, but I'm sure he picked a good one!

It's always fun to see what the student's will choose and to watch as they look through them during the week and have the fun of sharing their choices with the rest of the class. Library day is definitely one of our favorite days of the week! :-)
